What cookies are

A cookie is a small file that a site saves in your browser and that the browser sends back on later visits. Local storage, known as localStorage, works in a similar way, with the difference that the information stays in the browser and is not sent to the server automatically.

Both are used by this site only to the extent described below. No optional item is stored before you agree to it, and the data collected is not sold to anyone.

What we use for the site to work

Two local storage entries are strictly necessary. One remembers the theme you chose, light or dark, so that the site looks the same on your next visit. The other keeps your answer to the cookie banner, so that you are not asked on every page.

These entries do not contain your name, do not track the pages you visit and are not passed to anyone. Without them, the site would forget your choice on every page.

Traffic analytics

With your agreement, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, from what kind of device and from what source visitors arrive. What interests us are the aggregate figures, which show us what information is missing from the site, not the identity of visitors.

These cookies are placed by Google, which processes the data as the provider of the service. If you refuse, they are not installed at all, and the site remains fully usable.

Your agreement and how to withdraw it

On your first visit we ask whether you accept traffic analytics. Your choice is saved in the browser for six months, and after that period we ask again. Until you press “Accept”, no analytics tool starts.

You can change your mind at any time, by opening the cookie preferences in the footer of the site and changing your choice. Withdrawing your agreement stops any collection from that moment on.

How to control the data in your browser

Every browser lets you see, block or delete the cookies and the data saved by a site, from its privacy settings. You can do this at any time, without telling us.

If you delete the data for this site, the theme preference and the record of your agreement disappear as well, and the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit.
