Some disputes do not justify a trial, but they do not go away on their own: a product returned and not refunded, water coming from the flat above, a decision of the residents' association, a disagreement between a school and parents. Mediation is usually the shortest route.
When mediation fits
- A trader refuses to take the goods back, to repair them or to refund your money.
- A conflict has built up in the building over shared costs, repairs or noise.
- School, pupil and parents need a conversation led by someone from outside.
- The amount in dispute is smaller than the cost and the time of a trial.
